Annual Servant Leadership Conference
Each year the Center for Servant Leadership at the Pastoral Institute hosts a Servant Leadership Conference at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center. In October of 2000, we hosted a Conference on Servant Leadership in Higher Education. In 2001, Parker Palmer conducted a two-day conference in Columbus speaking about “Leading From Within.” In the past five years, 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2007 our speakers have included best selling authors, Jim Kouzes (The Leadership Challenge), Ken Blanchard (The One Minute Manager), Dr. John Izzo (Awakening Corporate Soul), Jim Hunter (The World’s Most Powerful Leadership Principle), and Lieutenant General William Caldwell and his wife Reverend Stephanie Caldwell. The 2009 Conference featured a servant leadership panel discussion with some of the countries leading CEOs such as Jim Blanchard (Synovus), Vicki Pryor (SBLI-USA), William “Bill” Turner, Jack Lowe (TD Industries) and Kathleen Amos (Aflac Foundation).
