COLLEGE AND COMMUNITY
"
Servant leadership is about creating an atmosphere of growth and service for everyone in an organization or community. It's about listening between the lines to build a vision everyone can own. It's about the subordination of self to meet the needs of others. It's about modeling what you want to see happen."
- William B. Turner
The servant leadership philosophy is spreading throughout our community and our nation.
CollegeIn January 1999, the Pastoral Institute partnered with Columbus State University and the broader Columbus community to launch a unique college-level leadership development initiative. This four-year program is designed to build servant leaders through academic pursuit, personal reflection and community engagement. To date, students in the program have contributed over 97,000 hours of service in Columbus and the surrounding region. For more information on the CSU Servant Leadership Program, visit
