Volunteer Opportunities
Looking for a way to volunteer for the Pastoral Institute? Consider joining our Auxiliary!
The Auxiliary is a group of women in the community committed to being the heart and hands of the Pastoral Institute. It strives to be the voice of our organization in the community, to assist us as we fulfill our mission and to provide programs promoting personal growth for women.
Membership
Membership is open to any woman desiring to serve. The Auxiliary holds a membership drive each fall, but welcomes new members throughout the year. The annual membership fee is $30. Membership terms run in 12 month cycles, but we're sure you will want to remain a part of this dynamic group for longer than a year!
Meetings
The Auxiliary meets seven times a year during the months of September, October, November, January, February, March and April. Each Spring they host an entertaining and educational event called Women Helping Women. Monthly meeting times may vary for the convenience of the members but are typically held during the lunch hour. Committees meet as needed.
Committees
There are six committees available for you to join and members are encouraged to join at least one:- Women Helping Women: This committee develops and implements programs designed to lift up and strengthen women in our community. It also provides opportunities for the Auxiliary to raise funds and help women and children in need.
- Reaching Out: Members of this committee work with our campus programs that serve the underprivileged and the homeless in our community.
- PI Support: It's always good to have a group ready to provide some volunteer hours. This committee helps staff health fairs, works on donor and staff appreciation and provides administrative support on campus as needed.
- Gardening: Many of those visiting the campus of the Pastoral Institute are experiencing difficult times. By helping with seasonal planting and putting arrangements in the waiting areas, this committee makes our campus more soothing and welcoming.
- Special Events: One goal of the Auxiliary is to offer an annual fund-raising event. In addition to organizing the event, this committee also helps with donor appreciation events and other campus events as needed.
- Development: The development director needs a team of volunteers to help with events for current and potential donors. This committee with work with the development office as events and needs arise.
