Five Fabulous Reasons To Attend the 2010 Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership's International Conference Pre-Conference Workshop in Columbus, Georgia

  1. Dr. Kent M. Keith, CEO of the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, announced today that the Greenleaf Center will be honoring the city of Columbus, Georgia as a "Servant-Leader City". This will be the first "Servant-Leader City" award that the Greenleaf Center has ever given.
  2. The half-day Pre-Conference is designed for residents of Columbus. The half day includes the luncheon and keynote, and the afternoon workshops. The luncheon will begin at 12:00 noon, and the workshops will conclude at 4:00 pm.
  3. The guest speaker at the Luncheon is Howard Behar. Behar is the former president of Starbucks North America and Starbucks International. He joined Starbucks in 1999 as vice president of sales and operations, and grew the retail business from 28 stores to more than 400 by the time he was president of Starbucks Coffee International in 1995. He is the author of the It's Not about the Coffee: Leadership Principles from a Life at Starbucks.
  4. This conference will inspire and equip those who are new to servant leadership as well as those who have spent many years on the journey. Featured speakers will share what they have learned leading for-profit and non-profit organizations, while concurrent workshops will explore the implementation of servant leadership, personal development, whatever your job or role or type of organization, you will find what you need to move forward personally and professionally in the face of today's challenges.
  5. Servant leadership is a philosophy and set of practices that are ethical, practical, and meaningful. One does not have to choose between doing what is right and being successful, or between making money and finding meaning. Servant leadership unifies the ethical, practical, and meaningful into one coherent way of living and leading.
